God
crept into the world, a babe,
Dependent

For
love, for life, for sustenance,
Was

Is

To

God
offers you and me.

FROM REPUBA BLOG; December 13
"... the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned..."
(Matthew 4:16 NIV)
We had been living at the SA high school school in Norway for a few months. Autumn was unusually dark and dreary. The isolation in the new environment made life extra difficult, and depression lurked around the corner. Then I awoke in the middle of the night to the most wonderful song. It was like an angel’s choir. At first I thought I was in heaven, and then I began to be more rational wondering about the source of the song. Was it the radio, which suddenly turned itself on? Was it the neighbors who had gone mad and started playing loud music in the middle of the night? The song was so near, yet distant, and it did not cease, so we searched our way towards the source of the sound. Did it come from outside?
Yes - when we pulled up the shade, we found the school choir, who stood outside our bedroom window on the ground floor and sang. They sang about the light that breaks through the darkness and the power of death, and the song went straight into my heart.
Lucia is not celebrated in the same way in Norway as in Sweden and thus came the song greeting unexpectedly that morning of Lucia, the 13th of December. That’s how God can come in the most unexpected ways, with the greeting that He loves us also during the dark days of life.
Prayer
Lord, I want to let the song of light that breaks through the darkest night, singing about You Jesus Christ, to sound in my most inner being today.
