And I gather up my coat to keep me warm,
My eyes pick out a baby in a manger;
A tiny little thing that’s just been born.
It is hard to fully realise the marvel,
Of what lies before me sleeping in the straw.
For he, whose wondrous presence filled the heavens,
Lies before me in a manger on the floor.
There within the manger lies the pure example
Of the path that all who follow him must share,
Not the high road, fame and greatness, this world travels,
But the one that Love descends, but few men dare.
Teach us how to choose your lowly little shelter,
When so many would reject a cattle shed;
And when others seek their glory in a palace,
May we glory in your manger as our bed.

God bless you all
Refrain:
'Tis the Lord, O wondrous story!
'Tis the Lord, the King of glory; at his feet, we humbly fall, crown him, crown him Lord of all! |

I'm printing each meditation to share with a number go shut-ins living in our estate. They bring such comfort, to be reminded that Jesus came for us each and every one. A gift in a manger.
