Am I really Pro Choice ? Part -2-

Let’s face it no one can parent eighteen children. And no one needs eighteen children. Those farm working days are long gone and the planet is saturated. I’m not sure whatever happened to the 80’s idea of Zero Population Growth but clearly it has vanished. Where I live (Florida) we are in desperate need of water. So is Georgia. There are boundary wars going on here about who should have access to what waterways. There is warring between North and South Florida on the issue as well. We are in a serious drought brought on by overpopulation and wars among neighbors for the most manicured, putting green like lawns. That’s a whole other topic for me to address another time – reduce, reuse, recycle.

Onto the Octamom. What the ---- is up with that ???? I ask that of her, her family, her friends, her physician. Who was thinking what? Or should the question be who wasn’t thinking what? No money, no home, no prospect of income. She already had six children living in questionable circumstances according to her mother and others.

There are probably wonderful reasons for IVF; like helping couples who feel the need to birth rather than adopt manufacture a child. I, having never had the longing need of many women to parent or birth (which are two VERY different verbs) so admittedly do not fully understand it. That doesn’t mean I don’t get that other people do. For some women there is a very definite need to want to birth; even for some men, carrying on the family line and all that. Though I don’t understand it I do get that is what it is though I still advocate for adoption and consider those who do adopt as saints. To rescue so unselfishly is an incredible act of love. I wish I had it.

I work with a woman who underwent three IVF treatments at $20,000 a pop. SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS and for naught. In the end they adopted two Guatemalan siblings. That was a pretty tidy sum as well. I can happily report that little family is thriving and strong. And she has passed through the desire to birth and into the desire to parent and doing one mighty fine job.

For what it’s worth, I’m also against animal breeding. Spay and neuter your pets people.

Maybe I’m not as pro-choice as I’d like to think.

I am not one to play God about a situation that a woman may find herself. I mean rape or incest or even rare instances of health-life and death. I think for a Christian a question may be asked. What does Jesus think about the little life and forming baby that is inside ?
I know that Bill Clinton was pro-choice. I do like one thing he said . We should do everything possible to avoid abortion. We should look at other alternatives to save life and look more to adoption. Abortion should be rare. He also pointed out that it was also a matter between a woman and her doctor. He left out two others. The father and The Father.
If someone is not a believer than why are conservative Christian beliefs pushed down their throats?
That question is not mine but it is asked by those that are pro-choice.Life is precious.

I am pro-life. I am pro-God. I am pro -baby. I am pro-elderly. Why do I say I am pro-elderly ? Because if we choose to weed out our young {or babys in the womb}, than let's take grandma out somewhere and abort her life. She may cramp our lifestyle or cause us some problems. Let's just get rid of her.

Who fights for the rights of the babys in the womb ? What about equal rights ? What about the rights of other females-those in the womb ? What is God's opinion on this ?

This battle has gone on for sometime. It will continue. The
one who will judge all that we do ,including the abortion issue,
will deal with us in this life and the next.

In Biology class many years ago I learned that the sperm and egg when combined formed a zygote. I think that is life. I think that is when God does his miracle in creation of implanting a spirit within that zygote.

As believers in Christ we talk about ministering to people and showing God's love. Let us meet the needs of people and help with food , shelter, baby food and diapers. Then we want to support the killing of innocent life ?

One day we will see the millions of aborted babys in heaven and we will be looking into the eyes of Jesus.

Now explain the virgin birth.

The virgin birth of course was a miracle. That is of course if you believe in such a thing. Of course you would have to believe the Bible as The Word of God. Then you would have to believe that God is the great Creator.
The Holy Spirit overshadowed Mary.
I believe that Scripture. I think it comes down to this . I believe.....

As a woman without children who knows what it is to long to have a child of her own I am anti IVF and think to a large extent it is playing God. However, at the same time am aware of friends having similar treatment and the result is my God-daughter whom I would never want to do without!

Like others, I admire and respect people who adopt. However, those who receive a huge amount of my admiration are those who foster. I think I am far to selfish to ever be able to give them back!

And yes .. 18 kids is far too many for anyone ... has the world gone completely mad in allowing and encouraging this?

Maybe not Active UKT! Admittedly in a strange bizaro world comparison a very long time ago TSA facilitated the very same lifestyle for me having 18+ kids in sunday school with no capable leadership upon my arrival to my new corps as the brand spanking new "commanding" officer/single.

After 6 glorious years (with help from a few of the original 18+) I suddenly and shockingly found myself in another bizaro world...an hq appointment (it was scene as a promotion)!

Seriously, Spot on comment Active UKT!

PS- the cycle will repeat itself this coming weekend here in the USA East with the ordination and commissioning of cadets. who knows maybe some newly commissioned officer will find in his/her first appointment a bountiful support of soldiers, non soldiers and friends of the army to assit? I didn't and i'm not bitter about it. thank God for those 18+ kids.

So basically you are picking and choosing when science does and does not apply?

Bob Deidrick said...

No, I am not picking and choosing. You may and that is your freedom of choice. I understand from The Bible that Jesus had no earthly father. Mary was overshadowed by The Holy spirit. By way of a miracle Mary was impregnated. I do not claim to understand it all but I believe what the Bible says. When I was born it was because of natural reproduction. It was not the same as in Jesus physical birth .
The funny part about my birth is that my mother like many in the fifties had to take medication for me to be conceived. Later the drug was banned. The female offspring-my sister, had problems conceiving.
She never had children. I have three. I never found out what issues I would face. Anyway, my point is that if someone does not believe the virgin birth then that is their opinion and there is no sense discussing that here . Additional dicussion can take place at n3fsa@yahoo.com
